Esse Academy

The Esse Academy educates dermatologists, medical aestheticians and skin therapists from around the world with the latest in innovation and ever-evolving biotechnology of the skin microbiome.

Get hands on experience with Esse

Each group that attends the Esse Academy, which is located at the Esse headquarters in KZN, will be exposed to both theoretical and practical elements, gaining experience in swabbing and genetic analysis, growing cultures and microscopic analysis. The first course to launch at the academy is the 5-Day Microbiome Course.

Available in a three-day or five-day course, this course aims to cover the microbial ecosystem on skin and possible probiotic treatments for skin conditions.

3-Day Microbiome Course

This three-day course covers an introduction to the microbial ecosystem on skin and possible probiotic treatments for skin conditions.

  • A basic understanding of the skin microbiome, and its impact on skin health.
  • Introduction to the key species and their role in the ecology.
  • An overview of how probiotics can be used to treat skin conditions.
